8.2. Removal and installation of returnable and contact rings in gathering
THE GENERAL DATA

Fastening of the top and bottom casings of a steering column

 1 – the bottom casing of a steering column;

2 – screws of fastening of the top casing;

3 – screws of fastening of the bottom casing;

4 – the top casing of a steering column;

5 – a shaft of a steering column

Removal of returnable and contact rings

 1 – connecting колодка;

2 – a contact ring;

3 – a plastic latch;

4 – a returnable ring;

5 – a shaft of a steering column
The prevention

At installation of returnable and contact rings they should be on the average position. Do not turn a ring rather each other – at turn of a steering wheel they can break.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a steering wheel (subsection 8.1 see), having convinced once again that forward wheels are in movement position on a straight line.
2. Turn away two screws 2 (fig. Fastening of the top and bottom casings of a steering column) fastenings see and remove the top casing 4 steering columns.
3. Turn away three screws of 3 fastenings, lower downwards the handle of the mechanism of fixing of a steering column and remove the bottom casing of 1 steering column.
4. Disconnect колодку 1 (fig. Removal of returnable and contact rings see) with wires from a contact ring.
5. If returnable 4 and contact 2 rings act in film not for replacement, fasten them among themselves by means of a sticky tape.
6. Unfasten three plastic latches 3 and remove rings from a steering column.
7. Establish rings upside-down. In spare parts the rings fastened among themselves by a transport clip are delivered. Remove this clip only before the installation of rings on a steering column.
