Installation of the brake drum-type mechanism of a back wheel

1 – the screw;
2 – a brake drum;
3 – a protective cap;
4 – a nave nut;

7 – a brake board in gathering with the brake mechanism;
8 – a cable of a drive of a lay brake;
9 – an axis pin;

11 – the gauge of frequency of rotation of a wheel;

The defective brake drum reduces durability brake колодок, leads to inefficient and non-uniform braking.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Replace a brake drum if its internal diameter has reached the maximum admissible value.
2. If on a working surface of a drum there were deep risks, сколы or ovality is appreciable, also it is necessary to replace such drum.
3. Remove a wheel, preliminary having weakened bolts of its fastening on the car standing on the earth.
4. Be convinced that the lever of a lay brake is lowered against the stop downwards (the lay brake is released).
5. Reduce brake колодки. For this purpose through an aperture under bolts of fastening of wheels in a drum by means of a screw-driver (fig. Data brake колодок see) wring out upwards an adjusting wedge (on a wedge for this purpose there is a special ledge).
6. Turn away the screw 1 (fig. Installation of the brake drum-type mechanism of a back wheel see) fastenings of a brake drum to a nave.
7. Remove a brake drum 2. At the complicated removal shift a disk a rubber or polymeric hammer.
8. Establish a new brake drum and fix its screw 1.
9. Bolts of fastening of a wheel definitively tighten only on the car standing on the earth.
10. Some times press a pedal of a brake for automatic adjustment of position brake колодок.
